Work at the Polls

The Registrars of Voters are always looking for poll workers for multiple elections and referenda throughout the year.

Available positions are Moderator, Assistant Registrar, Ballot Clerk, Checker and Machine Tender.

Our poll workers are paid for their time working and training. A light breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks/refreshments are also provided for our workers on Election Day. Elections and Referenda are always held on Tuesdays, with typical working hours of 5:15am until approximately 9pm. A usual year would have the Budget Referendum in May and a major election in November. There are some years with August primaries as well. Poll workers may choose to work at all or just one or two of the yearly votes. Training is provided ahead of each election. Anyone 16 years or older is welcome to work.

If you are interested in signing up as a poll worker, please complete the form below. For any questions, please contact the Registrars of Voters office at 203-452-2820 or email us at ROV@monroect.gov.
