Community Health

Community Health involves monitoring, investigating, and responding to disease reporting in our community by physicians and state laboratories. This helps us track trends and potential impact. Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention

When a child has lead poisoned we work closely with CT Department of Public Health to investigate and determine the source of how the child is being poisoned, and make sure the lead hazard is abated or controlled. Monroe Health Department has certified lead inspector risk assessors to perform home visits and lead inspections in relations to a child lead exposure. We enforce the CT Lead Poisoning and Prevention Regulations
